Where is this at

My 1990 xjs v12 CONVERTIBLE weighs 4,600 somthing pounds where is all this weight at ????????

Curb weight? The 4600 pounds you mention sounds a wee bit high.

Pre-facelift V12 coupes with USA bumpers came in right about at 4000 curb weight. I'd expect convertibles to be 200-300 more due to the extra bracing, folding hardware, pump, etc.

They're not a small car and Jag didn't skimp on metal :-).

Cheers

A full tank of gas weighs 162.5 lbs.......

I pulled the impact bumpers from mine and weighed them. Not as heavy as I thought at about 28 lbs each.

Is rust heavier than metal?

JameyXJ6 03-28-2013 02:49 AM

Its the weight of all the parts and repair receipts in the glovebox.

I think some of it is the accumulation of oil under the chassis.

Had a Rolls Royce Phantom on the ferry yesterday; 5700 lbs.
