Default Where to buy Lucas 3 amp fuses

I broke a fuse on my 86 xjs. To my surprise, and ten auto stores later, I cannot find a replacement 3 amp lucas paper glass fuse. It is 1 1/8 inch long and no one seems to have one. Searched parts suppliers on-line and so far, no good.

Ideas? This seems so obvious and easy, but I have wasted a full day on a single fuse and I am not yet ready to replace the fuse block.

Thanks.

Try looking for a 1.5 or 2 amp in the right length

The Brit rating sytem was different. USA equivalents have a lower rating

When I did my rebuild, I bought up a massive stack of fuses of all ratings, as I figured they would soon stop being available. If you cannot find them, pm me with your address and I'll send you some FoC.

If you have a particular affection for the genuine Lucas fuses with the paper inside I am 99% certain you can find some with just a bit of Googling.

Here's one possibilty although these might not be Lucas brand:

25 Amp Glass Fuse

Totally of topic but I'll add that British Auto Wiring also sells this cloth electrical tape:

Cloth Tape

Not concours correct (or even close) but when carefully used it is quite attractive and, compared to typical shiny electrical tape, has a more Jaguar-esque appearance.

Since the cloth covering on virtually all old Jags has by now totally rotted away this tape is a reasonable alternative for those wanting to do engine bay restorations etc.
