Default Where to buy top hydraulic cylinder - Jag discontinued

Just like the title. I am desperately needing a new cylinder for the top. Mine is not a leak problem but a broken stem. The part that the pin goes through on the end of the cylinder shaft broke off. I do not think it is weldable and if I am taking the car apart I'd like to only do it once. it's a 94 XJS for reference but it seems all the part numbers including left or right are the BCC2829.

Any one have a lead on where I can find or who you recommend I get one from? All snide, helpful or comedic comments welcomed. Thank you all in advance.
Cheers, Mike

As Greg says, plenty of used ones around, or new aftermarket ones from people such as Jagbits.

Try the Coventry Foundation's ebay store https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro...C2829&_sacat=0

Thank you all very much. All good leads I'll have to remember moving forward. This is the first failure of any kind for the car so I consider to be lucky. Found several that are aftermarket new for $150ish but cross reference a Mustang part number. Cannot imagine they are the same. Moss was a bust and lo longer carries them, JagBits had one but would cost me more in shipping and parts but good to know if I had to have it new for $300 it could get here. Welsh came through, had one on the shelf, shipped out same day and saved $75bucks. They were very responsive and helpful, will be here tomorrow or Friday.

Now to just start taking the rear seat out. Shouldn't be too bad.
Cheers and thanks, Mike

Mike,

If you're just changing out the pump, you don't need to take the rear seat out, do you? Can't the pump just be removed from the boot?

I think he's replacing one of the cylinders / rams, not the pump.

As an aside, re the OP's comment, I wouldn't be at all surprised if the cylinder was also used in a Mustang (or, more likely, vice versa).

I don't think I'd necessarily buy used if I could get a new / reman from one of the convertible specialists here in the US. And I would probably replace in pairs, come to that.

Changing the Rams is correct. Need the side panel out and to get it out seat needs to go first....

Cheers, Mike
