Why does my new 95/96 ECU have different markings?

Hello guys,

So I have been snatching up ECU's part number LHE1410 for my 95 XJS wherever I can find them for a reasonable price. As of today I have 3 (actually 4 if we count the one in the car):

My latest and probably last addition has a date of 30/05/02, but no other markings on the "SAGEM-LUCAS" sticker:

This is one of the ones I already have :

And this is the new one:

Anyone have any idea why the one with the 02' date would not have any markings? The one in the car has a Green sticker that says "rebuild by Lucas" 2003, but it also has the other markings on the "SAGEM-LUCAS" sticker.

Oh yes,

"Hello my name is Mark , and I am a Jaguar part hoarder"

I wonder if maybe it was marked and it faded? I've seen similar things happen where part of the printing vanishes after long sunlight exposure. Wonder if it would show up under UV light?

Nope. not one marking. I called an aquaintance at the old Jaguar dealer and he says Jaguar was still making replacement parts in 2002 and this is probably one of the last new replacement ECU's they made, but since it is a new replacement part, it does not have the body numbers that the original fitted on the car would have had. I guess that makes sense. I might try this one on the car and see how it works.

Do you want to sell one of those to a fellow member in need? Do yours have the corresponding VIN numbers with them?

Thank you
