XJS Service workshop Manual

Hello to all members here,

I have found this site and the members who answer questions to be most helpful in my project of bringing back an XJ-S 5.3 HE from the brink of death.

The car had been parked up outside unmoved for a number of years (Not sure how many) I have no garage so all work is done on stands on the drive with a decent cover to keep the rain out (England here so lots of rain) and anything taken off worked on in a small shed. at this point in time I have the front sub frame in the shed stripping and cleaning ready for when time and more importantly money allows new purchases of parts.

Anyway I have purchased a service/repair cd from eBay full of PDF's showing as far as I can see how to remove, restore and replace every part on the car. with so much more information on diagnostics, wiring diagrams torque settings and so on to the point I have been unable to come close to reading anywhere near all of it.

So to the point.

I am happy to make this available to all here if its possible to attach or upload an ISO of the disc to this site. I don't want to break any rules of the forum and not sure if its even possible to upload an ISO file to here.

Please can anyone let me know if this is first ok, then if its possible. Maybe I can have a link here to another site I can upload to for free or something.

Any advice or information will be gratefully received.

Looking forward to being able to give back if possible

New bound 7 I really need a xjs manual. Can you please post it?

newbound7 07-01-2015 05:11 AM

I am looking into being able to upload it to another persons server for them to host, due to file size I cant just email it.

I will update this thread as I go.

Ok so I am not getting the upload to a server thing working so I am going to post a temp link to download the file from that is active for 7 days only.

Download it while you can and I will see if it can be hosted to make it available after the seven days are up

Eventhough I already have several manuals you can never have too much information. Each manual is a bit different and have information that the others do not contain.

Thanks!

I downloaded a copy too, cheers for the link.

I downloaded the manual but it will not open. Any ideas? It also will not let me delete it.

An .ISO file is an image of a CD/DVD. You cannot open it directly. You need to use disc burning software to extract the files and burn them onto a CD/DVD.

Once you have it on the disc then you can install it on your computer or run it directly from the disc.

As for deleting the file, I don't know why it is a problem. Do you receive an error message when you try to delete it?

you will probably do best hosting a torrent, leaving the magnet here and only uploading if someone messages you about it

i realise this is an old thread, but if someone could reupload the manual it would be greatly appreciated :)

The OP newbound7 was still using the forum 11 months ago (Last Activity: 02-03-2020) so you could be lucky.

Have you downloaded Kerby Palms "the book"?
For pre 1993 XJS it's the best.

macdoesit 01-08-2021 04:17 AM

could have used it the past 10 years. no longer have a jag, ohwell.

This digital version is useful, thanks. To be clear, this is the factory Repair Operations Manual, sort of a reader's digest version of the 4 volume factory workshop manual. But it will cover 80-90% of what a DIYer needs. Combined with Palm's Book, and a Haynes manual, you'll approach 100%.

I have a 1995 XJX Conv and the passenger seat is upright with not the normal rake. How is this to be reset to the factory or drivers' seat rake? Thank you for any help. Rod

You should start a new thread for this.

I'm assuming you know the seat controls are on the door. If those don't work, you should check fuses. If that doesn't work, then you might need a new seat ECU.

In any case, please start a new thread and you will get all the help you need.
