XJS V12 oil change

Would you be so kind as to post a pictures of where you add oil to a Jaguar XJS V12 (the one I just inherited is a 1986). Appreciate your patience with this Jaguar maintenance novice. Thank you.

If you look at the engine from the USA driver's side (LHS) at the front of the LHS cam cover you will see a cap about 2 inches in diameter with short wings on it so it can be undone by hand. This is the oil filler. Green in this photo.

The fill caps on almost every somewhat recent engine is found on the valve cover.

Mine have the international symbol. An old tech oil can!!! My greasy corner on my bench has the real thing

So much stuff has gathered on my bench, that I've little room for bench work!!
Gotta work on that. Finnish the projects or abandon them!!

One done yesterday. Rustic sconce from tree trimmings and scrap fence bard pieces.
Solar powered LED lamp goes in it...

Thank you for posting the picture. Although my engine configuration is different (1986 XJS V12), did find a cap with wings which when removed you could see a metal linked chain.

That's the correct spot. The chain you see is your cam chain. You might check the condition of the seal on the underside of the filler cap, it is most likely very flat and very hard after all this time.

Your engine is not different, yours and mine are identical, but my pic is of the engine out of the car, intake manifolds removed, being tarted up!
