Default XJS vs XJ12

Hi all,
The dream car of my youth was always the XJS. I have had a few Jags, all lovely but now doubt I will ever own a HE, if for no other reason than I just don't comfortably fit into one. Nevertheless contrary to the opinions of many I believe the XJS is about the best looking car in the world.
Now I find myself doing up a 78 Daimler V12, yet to be driven. I was musing as to how similar (or different) the saloon is to drive compared to the XJS. With so much shared mechanically I imagine there must be many similarities. I presume the XJS is a little tauter.
How does an XJS compare to my wife's 98 XK8 which I believe is built on a XJS floor pan ( which I also believe is based on a SWB XJ.
Any thoughts or experiences appreciated
al

I own a series 1 SWB XJ12, 1989 xjrs and 2000 xkr and l would say there is a similarity in the driving experience between all three vehicles.
The xj12 is a little less sporty ride than xjrs which is a little less firm than the xkr, probably due to 20inch rims on the latter. The xkr is for sure a bit more "modern" with more creature comfort, better sealing and definately more power than the other two.
Both coupes are more steering responsive than the sedan but l would not hesitate to do a long distance trip in any one of them.
