Default Yet another mystery!

Right above the glovebox knob in the edge of the dash is a hole that is formed into the dash pad. I have looked in with a flashlight and don't really see anything. I can't find it pictured or explained in the owners manual. It doesn't emit light nor does it dispense gin and tonic.

Could it possibly be a small duct that transfers smoke directly to the cockpit so that you will know when the Lucas electrics have sprung a leak??

I am thinking it has to do with cabin temp regulation for the a/c.

Just curious.

.

Right.

A few inches into the hole is the cabin temp sensor.

At the other end of the sensor is a long pipe that eventually connects to one of the air distribution ducts. When air blows thru the duct it draws cabin air thru the tube and therefore across/thru the air temp sensor

Cheers
