2006 X150 Lower Front Grill

Hi, the lower grill in my front bumper could do with a respray. Can you tell me if you have to remover the whole bumper to remove and reinstall this grill?

Thanks,

Ron

Yep. It's not horrible if the riv-nuts don't spin in the aluminum brackets. I have pics in my build thread. Basically pull the headlamps, wheel wells, belly pan and remove the hardware along the top edge and corners to pop it off. The grills are held on with clips that need removed to pop the inserts off. It's not the greatest setup but you can do it with a big blanket sitting on the pavement.

Thanks for the answer and advice. I know it sounds easy to you but I think this will be passed my level of competence. My grill is black and my car is black so maybe masking could be an option????

Cheers

Download the free service manual so you know what you are getting into. It's really not a terrible job, something easier than doing your own brakes. If you can put the car on jack stands you can do this work.

If not masking will work but I'd drape a towel over the radiators to catch the over spray.
