Default 2007 XK Base Radio Issue

Hey guys,
I have an 07 XK with the base radio (stock)
My left front door speaker comes in and out relating to big bumps on the road. I have removed the door panel to check the connections there and all seems good. Where is the amp (if there is one) located so I can check those speaker wire connections, or is everything built into the head unit in the center dash in a typical head unit location?

Thanks,
Brett Horton

The base system has no amp. Speakers plug into the back of the CD player. Left front door speaker is white with blue stripe.

So ended up being a module, double side taped under the glove box. This module (I think) is used to tie in and IPod connector in the glovebox. Anywho, played with the connector (bent a few tabs) and all is good again.

Brett,

That's part of the Audio Connectivity Module, a dealer-installed accessory to provide iPod connectivity for pre-2009 models. Beginning with the 2009 4.2L XK/XKR models, Jaguar introduced iPod connectivity that was integrated with the touch screen and steering wheel controls. See: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...ve-box-161157/

True, but very few Forum members have your skills and the required tools.

Speaking from experience, they are pretty easy to install. The hardest bit is probably getting the glove box out.

You do need access to SDD of course but it isn't that expensive to get all the bits needed and it pays for itself just doing this job.

I find getting the glove box back in again to be the hardest. Done it three times now, and it doesn’t get any easier.

I kind of meant that really.

I have had the pleasure of removing the glove box 4 times. Once to put the ACM in, once to take it out because it wrecked the FM reception for some of the radio stations with weaker signals. Then I put it back in again when I discovered Spotify and finally to fix the damper mechanism.
