I was skeptical of the answer given by the Dealer, but had to believe it in lieu of a better answer. Now, my thought is that the FOB is not communicating via RF or Wireless, but is ok when inserted, as it makes a contact.

I see a lot of programming ideas for XKR 2007 and prior, but none for 2008 and later. Hope someone has figured this out. Thanks

AS you should be. There is no 30 second battery swap timer. Here's some valuable info on keys and remotes from the manual

I have tried different battery. It works when inserted into the slot but no RF and wireless function. I have to believe the dealer's version of the answer, not knowing otherwise. But I accept the users on this forum for their word, because they are more credible than any Dealer.

What I cannot find is the instructions to program the FOB for 2008 XKR and later models, but plenty for 2007 and prior. What changed in 2008?

As a new owner and after driving the 2008 XKR, my 96 VandenPlas seems like sluggish truck trying it's best to pick up speed. My daughter is betting the the 96 won't last too long with me. Let's see. I love Jag's too much.

That's my understanding also. $ 498 new key and programming from Jag dealer here in Phoenix/Scottsdale
