22 inch rims?

Gentlemen.. I have a 2007 XK in British Racing Green. I have been to a couple of rim shops and both have said only a 20 inch rim fits. One rim shop went as far as to show me a few rims that were made specifically for the size and offset I need (so he said). I was pretty close to giving in but decided to wait a week and check online, and Bang! The exact wheel the rim shop showed me, was on my year XK in a 22". I then tried reaching out to that person, but of course no response.. Sooooo if any of you kind folks happen to know what specs I need to fit a 22 please PLEASE let me know. Thank u very much!

A 22" rim will make the car look so bad.

It's a Jaguar, a class car, don't "F" it up.

The ride will be terrible with the extreme low profile tires.

If you want a low-rider I am sure there are plenty of them in So. California.

What Rich said- No!

So, for the fronts, the standard 20" wheel takes a 255/35 tyre. On a 22" rim, that would have to be a 255/25 to get the same rolling radius.

On the rear, standard 20" takes 285/30; on a 22" you really need a 285/20, but I don't think they make tires with a profile that low. A 285/25 will have a 3.3% greater rolling radius, so your speedo will under-read by 3.3% (when it says 60, it's actually 62). It will also increase the diameter by 2cm, so there's a risk of rubbing against the wheel arch.

The 1/3 reduction in sidewall height you'd get at the front is going to reduce the ride quality; the rear, not so much. My car has 30% stiffer springs than a stock XKR and I haven't lost any fillings, but the sidewalls absorb quite a bit of initial shock when the wheel hits something. Worse, unless you live somewhere with no potholes, be prepared for cracked rims. We get reports of folks with the 20" wheels ending up with a bent/cracked rim from hitting just one pothole.

Sorry, I don't know the wheel offsets for the XK, I only have the numbers for XKRs.

Like the other guys, I'd say "Don't do it", but it's your car & your $$.

Where's that picture of the XK8 on a set of chrome wagon wheels. It look real funny not to mention cheap. Hey what ever floats your boat.

I've got 22" forgiatos on my 2010 XKR, with 305s out back and 245s up front. That leaves very little options for tires however, and I've learned first hand about the cheap ones. Also, even with lowering springs, ride quality was pretty decent IMO. I literally just got done (an hour ago) pulling off the lowering springs and put on XKR-S springs. I'll report back and let you know how that goes, so far for the first initial ride I like them and now have better ride height for the roads around here. Also going to be putting on new tires next week and I'm going to see if I can go wider yet front and rear. I have more to add and I will get pics as well but for now I need to go to bed before the girlfriend yells at me.

I would not go above 19", but I am thinking of function over form... 22" is going to make that stiff sprung XKR drive like sh** and chew apart your brakes & bushings...
