Default Aftermarket Exhaust Valves

Hi folks,

I pick up my 07 xkr on Monday and cannot wait to be a jag owner having come from a bmw.

My car is really clean and tidy and comes with some gorgeous extras including carbon fibre rear diffuser, Arden exhaust and the larger rear spoiler.

I've been reading up on as much as I can since putting down the deposit and the first question is like to ask is about fuse 19. The car is fitted with an Arden exhaust. I have no idea whether it's a full Arden exhaust or just the back box but I was wondering whether when fitting an after market exhaust pulling fuse 19 has any effect on the valves?

Looking forward to being a part of the community (shall posts pics soon)

Thanks

Jon

Welcome to the club and the form. As for the Arden exhaust I am not familiar but if you look at the rear muffler on both sides if you see a mushroom type of metal case attached to each side of the muffler then you have an active exhaust and if it is hooked up then removing the fuse will keep the pipes open. If you have no mushrooms then you have what Arden designed . Have fun.

Some brands of aftermarket exhaust have (of have the option of) active valves, like the standard system. Spires offer the option on theirs. I have the Elite RR back box which has no valves. As above, if your exhaust hasn't got the valves then pulling fuse 19 will have no effect whatsoever.

Welcome to the forum, photos are obligatory, and since you've got an upgraded exhaust, so is a sound clip
