Congratulations on your purchase. Before you head out on a long trip, I recommend you have your brother-in-law drop it off at dealer/reliable indy for a) oil change b) brake service c) alignment. Having this sorted out ought to make your trip more pleasant.

Yep - New battery, oil change, new tires, and alignment has all been done by current owner recently. She's all set for a road trip. We won't start the Chicago-STL segment until the Tuesday following Memorial day - less traffic. Then STL-Nashville, and finally Nashville to ATL. I'll document my first drive, and the road trip in a separate thread. Only 11 more days until I get behind the wheel. :)

I have an 07 but your spoiler is different than mine and it looks like you have a light or something on your trunk that I don't have as well?

I don't know if this is something that would interest you but the Chicago to STL segment can be done on old Route 66.

Not sure about the spoiler, but I think I read somewhere that the bump on the boot/trunk is the sat radio receiver? Someone could correct me on that though.

That spoiler looks the same as mine and as you say, the bump on the trunk is the SAT radio antenna.

The 'R' sure looks sexy with those quad pipes and the extra badge. One day...

I agree with your SinF. The buyer should do the PPI or call the Jaguar Dealership to hire the mechanic to perform the PPI, prior to your trip. It will save you money and time in the long run. Plus the people who buy cars around the world have the resources to have buyers purchase cars on their behalf. Many are trained mechanics, automotive buyers and bonded, or they hire a service that offers that ability. Pedigreed exotic or unicorn cars are the easiest to buy, everything has been documented and when it is not they have the resources to research. Even Jay Leno has people that examine the car prior to purchase.
