BRG, looks black at night or even in the shade. Only shines green in direct sunlight.

The newer orangish red metallic is very nice.

Not a fan of black or silver.

Porcelain is my favorite with Black second. Not a fan of red cars personally. That Caviar is sweet though. I like the Liquid Silver as well.

When I was looking for another car last year I found a 2011 XJL that was some sort of dark blue with 2 tone tan/blue interior. That combo was just fantastic.

That's about the color of mine, "Pearl Gray Metallic". Course I don't know what it was called in 2007.

Liquid silver is what I have, but it wouldn't have been my choice. I love the radiance red or the Carnival Red as it was called on the X100 (which I also have). Silver is just too common, it's the new white. However, it never looks dirty or dusty as opposed to black which looks like a dust bin in southern California. Just find a car you like and that meets all of your other criteria, any color looks good on the XKR.

You are correct. The Selena wheels are the giveaway because they were unique to the 2009 XKR Portfolio models, all of which were painted Shadow Gray, a 1-year only XKR color. 2008 XKR Portfolio models were Celestial Black with polished Cremona wheels.

And yes, it's rare. How rare is it? I'm aware of one other that was identically equipped from the factory with the Ivory and Slate interior, Rich Oak veneer, Adaptive Cruise, and Alcon Brakes. I've added a few mods.

Very ironic that this "special colour" for the 2009MY Portfolio was originally used on the X-Type...

I like my black car, but my preferred colors were shadow gray, radiance red or emerald fire. They all look great. Luckily Jaguar didn't really do a bad color on these cars, some are less my taste but still very nice.

I have the boring liquid silver. But I like this. I know its an f type but might look good on an xkr. Can always peel it off if you don't like it. Maybe next year we will see.

As people who know these cars we can see every variation and difference from car to car and model year to model year, however, I would venture to guess that no matter what color, that when over 90% of the population see these cars on the road and especially if it's a coupe , will say " that looks just like the car Daniel Craig drove in Casino Royale".

If you want one of the more colourful colours, you may have to wait a long time or travel a long way to find a good one, or both.

When I was thinking about looking, vapour grey caught my eye. When I actually started looking, I found that 70+% of all XKRs were black or some shade of grey and these dark colours were not my preferred choices. Blue was probably next most common with about 10% but most of these were nearly new XKR-S models above what I was willing to pay. That only left about 15 cars in the whole of Germany which were white, silver, red or green! So not much choice.

I settled on a white one as it was low mileage, great spec and condition and from a fairly near-by Jaguar dealer. White looks a lot better in the flesh than in photos but for me needs the silver trim and wheels not to feel a bit flat.

With such rare cars, getting exactly the spec you want could be very difficult if you discount black and dark greys. The colourful ones, if at all sensibly priced, sold fast. The blacks, may be because they were thought to be a preferred colour were usually over-priced and sat until they were reduced to the going rate.

However, they look fine in any colour :)

I've learned that even though most auto websites have a checkmark for the portfolio trim, selling dealers do not realize what they have.

As a consequence, there are portfolio's for sale in with regular XKR's, and even XK's.

Since 2008/2009 were low production years, it doesn't take long to search all of them.

Your interior is quite rare, I'm not sure I've seen one for sale.

French Blue XKRS is the coolest color. The older XK's had more appealing colors like Radiance Red, Winter Gold and Seafrost Green. Any of the blue's or red's are great. The grey's are well fitting to a British GT. Have to consider the interior color and wheel selection. White is safe and tasteful.

I think it makes a big difference as to whether you are going for a coupe or a vert. I have owned three X150 verts. My favorite was ultimate black with a canvas colored top and caramel interior. My current Portfolio 13 XKR vert is Rhodium Silver, Black top and dark blue interior. If it should become necessary to replace the top the new top will be dark blue. If I were to get a coupe It would be shadow grey or some other dark grey. Bottom line it is a matter of personal taste and what is available, etc., etc.

Well, I'm still at the fork of this XKR road: 2010+ Coupe vs Vert. I thought convertible for sure, as I enjoyed the optional open driving thru the years (1973 spitfire-was my daily for 3 years, 1963 T-Bird vert-was my daily for 3 years, 2000 S2000-fun 3rd car, 21,000 miles in 7.5 years).
But the coupe classy looks is just killing me. The 2 cars from the side and back look surprisingly so much different.......
From driving enjoyment/environment standpoint- with top up is the vert as good as the coupe?
It's not going to be a garage queen- at least 4000 miles/year, and actually will be parked outside, as our daily's are in the garage.
