Default A Big Black Cat was spotted in the wilderness...

Our first full day trip in the XKR with nearly 300 miles covered. Started with a nice hike at a High Sierra lake near 7000 feet elevation. After that, a great lunch in a Cantina where we came upon a cousin of our Black Cat, a white F-type.

Following the lunch we diverted to some very lightly used highways, crossing over 3 passes, each in excess of 7000 feet. Finally, arrived to our real destination; a 30 miles-long deserted road that cuts through pristine High Sierra wilderness. No posted speed limits, no people, no structures, no other cars just our Black Cat and 510 very wild and happy horses. Miles of straights and hundreds of turns, tight or high speed, a performance driver's dream. We traveled the 30 miles back and forth 3 times before a near empty tank forced us back to civilization.

Pictures:
1) Great Mexican lunch at the cantina.
2) The Black Cat meets White Cat.
3) The Black Cat is at one of the many lakes along the way.
4) Gorgeous scenery everywhere.
5) At the top of the "secret" wilderness road, ready to turn the horses loose. Oh, how they ran...

It WAS fun. Tried to post a short video but, apparently it was too large. Probably just as well... shows an "unidentified" Big Black Cat flying down the road and diving into a turn at redline at warp speeds. The sounds were the best part of it; the whistle of supercharger combined with the wide open exhaust thunder, and the the poor animals in the area are probably still in in a state of shock and in hiding :-).

Hi...

This is just my opinion... but after seeing your pictures, The F- type doesn't even come close to the beauty of the XKR! Enjoy!

That is NOT only your opinion. Side by side, quite a difference!

The "classic" lines of the XK-line isn't matched by the sporty looks of the F-Type. Drive 400 km in an XK and get out relaxed. Try that in a F-Type and you get the cramps.
It doesn't provide with the space and comfort the XK does!
