Brake cooling ducts
Now that I have the Alcons fitted front and rear, I am strongly considering ducting the front brakes. Anyone here have any experience or thoughts on this?

Any road race (Porsche ) after market or club race supplier has something you can work with. Every club racer has these. Not the duct usually blows into the center inside of a vented rotor pushing the heat out. With a solid rotor any increased air flow helps.

They are fully vented 2 piece rotors.

Lots of M3 guys duct their brakes. A little creativity and a bit of ingenuity and some hardware store parts and I'm sure it could be done fairly easily and for not much $$$

Add a vacuum system for the dust too...

This 2007 XKR race car appears to have brake cooling ducts in the corners of the front bumper, in place of the OEM panel for the parking lights.

Summit Racing sells universal brake duct parts: https://www.summitracing.com/search/...-cooling-ducts as well as flexible duct work: https://www.summitracing.com/search?...exible%20ducts. Home Depot and Lowe's also sell flex duct. Read more about this amazing race car: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/m...ing-car-95277/ |
I wonder if the brake cooling kit for the F-Type would fit? Although, I guess it's a moot point now that it's discontinued. Was crazy expensive too...
|
Wow, I didn't know they offered one. Looks like around $1700 T2R-15213
|
Yup, T2R-15213 & T2R-15214. Optional equipment for the CCM brake package. For some reason Jaguar advised that they were to be used for the track only. I think I might have a pic or 2 of these things somewhere. If I can find them I'll post'em up
