Default Brake pad wear sensors

How many Brake pad wear sensors do I need for a 2015 xkr? I’ve heard one for the front, one for front AND one for the rear, and AI seems to think one for each wheel for a total of four?

so… 1, 2, or 4?
thanks for anyone with a definitive answer!

Two - according to the electrical manwell and from the service manwell:

The brake pad wear sensor is wired in series with a wear sensor on the RH rear brake and the instrument cluster. If the
thickness of one of the brake pads connected to a wear sensor decreases to a predetermined limit,
the instrument cluster
illuminates the brake warning indicator

The brake pad wear sensors, if memory serves, are LH front and RH rear, not all four wheels.

Yep, LH front and RH rear, inner pad only for both.
That's 2 pads out of 8 so not that great but at least it's the inner pads which on modern Jags tend to wear twice as fast as the outer pads.

That's why one must make sure the sliding pins on the calipers are corrosion free, and adequately lubricated so the pads wear evenly.
