Broken handles to lean seats forward

Both of the plastic pieces used to allow me to lean me seats forwrd to allow access to the back seat have broken off. I don't know what they are called so it has been almost impossible to google repairs/replacements.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix rather than replace the whole flippin' seat?

Thanks for the part number. Is this just for the plastic chrome piece or for both pieces that work together?

One left and one right for just the chrome handle which’re broken in yours.

Sorry for all the questions - if I order the two new chrome pieces, but the "bolt" was broken off of the piece that's attached to the seat, will this still work? See the missing bolt in the first photo, but it's not missing on the other seat (see that last picture)

The only thing I see broken is the screw post which’s part of the handle. Unless the screw has fallen inside the seat, it should still be there. You’re still going to have to open the rear of the seat cover to get to the mechanism to replace the handles.

oh dear, open the seat? hmmm...... the dealer?

Unscrew the 2 top screws to remove the mechanism. Then remove the broken part and replace with the new ones.

Thanks so much!

You shouldn't have to remove the mechanism to replace the chrome handles, I had to replace both on my car over the last couple of years (the plastic on that center post fatigues with age and use). You can get a screwdriver in there if you pull the base that the lever attaches to out.

Just had one repaired this week ordered the part and had a local upholstery shop repair it for for a very the reasonable price of $20. He repaired it in less than 10 minutes.

I used Gorilla Glue Epoxy, put a healthy dollop on the broken section and let it sit for a day. So far has held up well, but I'm also relatively careful with it now.

The first time one broke, I replaced it. Pretty easy, you can pull on the square part that’s left on the seat to get access to the screw. It’s a #2 phillips. When the other side broke, the replacement had gotten kinda expensive, like, $50. So I used

Just replaced my driver's sided handle over the weekend, no disassembly required aside from the one screw that holds the handle in place:

Before (remnant of old handle present)

No need to disassemble, just unscrew the screw (while holding remnant of old handle with pliers) and replace with new one.

New one installed
