Default Cannot apply Parking brake warning...

Hey guys and gals... I'm confident someone can provide guidance here as this seems to be a common issue. For me, the warning only occurs when it's wet out, otherwise, nada. Am I dealing with a wiring issue underneath the car or by the module? And where is that module, haven't been able to locate it. I'm aware of the various modules behind the rear seats and replaced my TPMS module a year back. Any assistance or direction to an alternate thread would be appreciated. Thank you.

First thing EVER to check on anything is Battery Voltage. 12.6 volts after sitting unmolested for six hours or more.

Second thing to verify, do you push the brake pedal enough when you try to set the brake? It shouldn't matter much, but the E-brake needs to learn that position.

Hey Cee Jay, appreciate the input! Battery sits on a trickle charger and was replaced in the last 2 years. Also, this issue has been ongoing but intermittent, now, even if there is moisture in the air after rain, the warning light can come on. Second part here, I never set the E-brake, if that's what you mean.

The parking brake warning is lit whether driving or still and without engaging the e-brake.

The parking brake module is behind the center rear junction box behind the rear seats. you have to remove the right and left anti roll protection bars to get access to the module ( convertibles).

But the e-brake works otherwise? A scan with SDD indicated mine had an issue with the brake module hall effect sensor which apparently's a common issue with modern Jags which use this mechanism.

Ok, well that likely rules out the module. I've been back there to replace the TPMS module, same location. That area is dry as a bone. The culprit has to be exterior given this only occurs when it rains and sometimes even if just moisture is in the air (going from cold to warmer and condensation). The interesting thing is, the triad of alerts - ABS yellow warning, Red flashing e-brake warning and rear sensor activating with nothing behind me. OBD shows only e-brake code, which, leads me to think it's a connection under the car.

No, e-brake does not work when alert is flashing.

Sounds like the actuator’s failed, like mine. Fairly common problem across multiple models.

Hi, I'm back with the e-brake problem, now full time (amber ABS light on, flashing + red, cannot apply parking brake).... Indy Jag shop guy spent 3 hours poking around and came up with recommending replacing the Body Control Module, which I'm not convinced is the issue. This week, for the heck of it, I tried replacing the parking brake module with a used unit with matching serial numbers, and while my car accepted the unit, the fault remained. Keep in mind here that my OBD (JLR specific) registered no codes and indicates my original parking brake module is ok. Previously I had registered a Hall effect code, but upon replacing the battery, no codes pulled up. Thoughts?? Actuator issue?? Completely frustrated at this point.
