Hello fellow Jaguar Owners, I new to the block. Just purchased a 2010 XK, will be a fun secondary daily driver...
Always loved the looks of the newer XKs and I now have me one....

So my first question is the cd changer enclosure box in the back. What is all in there, is there a sub or speakers in there and does the NAV system required the changer? My thoughts is to remove that whole enclosure to get more space in the trunk. Maybe fit a set of golf clubs.

So was wondering what is all in there, what do I lose if I totally removed, and has anybody done this?

That's a DVD player n the boot used only for the Nav. CDs only go in the head unit. Underneath the CD is the digital radio module I believe.

 

If you take the cover off that 'box', you'll see that the battery is on the left hand side, and the right side has a stack of components, including the DVD drive for the navigation, the phone module for your bluetooth phone connection, the satellite receiver (if you have satellite radio equipped).
There is no CD changer back there. CD's are fed into the slot in the infotainment stack in your dash.
There's really nothing you are going to remove in the trunk to get more space.

 

Do you have a coupe or a vert. If you have a vert you can open the luggage separator to create more space in the boot with the top up. You will not be able to lower the top with separator opened. If you include the year and model in your signature you will be able to get more help/answers to your questions because people will know what you are asking about.

do plan to add a battery tender, so glad to know where it is..
