Default CDs stuck in audio unit

My '07 XK in-dash CD player will not eject nor work/play in any manner. It appears to be stuck on the first CD. Tried the Forum's search engine to no avail.

Is there a way to remove the stuck CDs (six)?
Thanks,

First thing I'd try is a hard reset of the vehicle, as most problems are electrical gremlins. Take the battery cables off the battery and touch the cables together for a few seconds. While the cables are off, I'd also suggest charging the battery with a GOOD battery charger of 10 amps or more for at least 12 hours if not longer. Reconnect and see what happens.

It can't HURT, and it's free.

Also, have you tried putting another disk in to see what happens?

I know this should be obvious, but still... MAKE SURE THAT BOTH CABLES DISCONNECTED from a battery before you touch them, otherwise you will have a SHORT.

Did the hard reset. Battery is fully charged. Tried slipping a new disc into the intake port - would not accept. There are six disc in the unit - full capacity. Display highlights disc #1 and is unresponsive to any touch commands. Will do some disassembly of the audio unit next - perhaps I can gain a grip on this top disc, which seems to be jammed. I will keep posted.

Did you try giving it a good "whack" when you tried ejecting a disk?
Other than that, I'm out of ideas having never experienced this myself.

The saga continues. Did a web search for "stuck CDs": https://www.wikihow.com/Remove-a-Stuck-CD-from-a-Car. The slot in my player is totally obstructed by a stuck CD, so traditional remedies did not work. Decided to remove the player. It is not difficult, just a lot of fasteners. the most intimidating thing about removal is how to remove the wood audio surround without scratching. Best to remove prying from the bottom - it then pops off easily. Finally had the player in hand, and could not figure out how to proceed further. Afraid of removing the top for fear of loosening bits and gear wheels. So, I will take the player to an audio shop next week. The CD player has a FoMoCo label with part number 6G9N-14C230-PF. The entire unit is a "mutt". The basic audio is Alpine. The screen is Mitsubishi and sound system is Alpine (later Bowers & Wilkins).

Best scenario is a physically 'stuck' disk, but there are likelihoods that an electro-mechanical fault is preventing something from doing something.
Hope it works out for ya.

Local auto stereo shop (Stereo King) recommended United Radio, Inc in East Syracuse, NY. Contacted them. They will do a free estimate, but basic rebuild is about $230, which is about one has to pay on eBay, if available. Was unable to find any on eBay, USA and UK. However, there seems to be a subsequent model: 7G9N-14C230-TA, which looks the same, but cannot confirm interchange withj my "6G9N-14C230-PF."

$230 ain't that bad, I just spent $530 on a replacement Smart Key and Programming for the one I lost, then the NEXT DAY I found my lost key.

Looks like you have premium sound? If so, this is what I used to go from base to premium in my 07:
7G9N-18C815-TA. They are much cheaper than what you're seeing on eBay. Can't say for sure if it's just plug an play because I upgraded my sound system so I had to make changes to the CCF. Even if you have to make an update to CCF, it can't be more than an hour labor I would think. If you have the base system, PM me and I can sell mine.

I presume the plan is to replace the unit then you can tear open your old one to recoup the CD's?

I vaguely recall installing it and testing it before connecting the speakers and it functioned normally (without sound obviously)

Isn't that always the case .... I went crazy for 2 days looking all over for my X-type's fob and was about to give up and call a locksmith to make a new key... The car was unlocked in the garage, but was already thinking how much is this gonna cost. I sat in the car and looked straight ahead .... wouldn't you believe it ... it was below the dashboard in-between the gauges resting on the glass !!! what a relief ... lol

Sean,
I do have premium sound. My intent is to repair the existing CD player, but thanks for the other part number. What is "CCF"?

Update: Shipped CD unit to United Auto, Inc. They responded immediately. Repair will be $225, including return shipping and one year warranty.
Did some more research on 6G9N-14C230-PF, the FoMoCo label on my unit. There was no reference to a typical Jaguar part number on the unit. Was able to find the part on Columbia Jaguar's (South Carolina) part fiche. It is C2P21597E with MSRP of $885 and discounted to $769.25. This part number may be used in subsequent years, which would then indicate interchangeability.

Rey, there's a thread here on upgrading to Premium sound, by Cambo. He modifies sound systems for a living (among other Jag work). See Old Jaguar on facebook. The part I gave you 7G9N-18C815-TA, was confirmed by him. The 6 stacks were used in Jaguar and Rover. It's your dime certainly, but you might reach out to him and confirm that the number I gave you is interchangeable with your vehicle. He could also confirm whether it's plug and play. You can get them for less than $100 on eBay.

Anyway, let us know your resolution. Good Luck!

Default 2007 XK8 CD player replacement

@Cambro
I removed my 6 disc cd player and cross referenced(obviously not well enough)to the post about replacement. I scored a TA however... when replacing I noticed I had extra plug with no spot for connection on the new. I didnt bother to compare the 2 before hand. My CD unit is a 6f6n-14c230-RC w manufacture date "06/03"
I cant find one anywhere. Im so jag damn frustrated. Can anyone please help. The newer TA came with module from a '14 XF
and was only 28$ w S&H. I waited over a week. My battery is dead from sitting w window open in 100° temps So working on that as well.
they look like same unit but why does mine have an extra plug? Possibly the old Nav? Any advice much appreciated. Im "just a girl" with her whole dash apart

3 plugins vs 2
3 plugins vs 2

I don’t know what a TA is. please clarify. Do you have premium or standard sound system? The pic you show is referred to as the integrated audio module. Connector IP058 has 12 pins and connects to the speakers directly. It applies to the standard system only. Connector IP057 is for antenna, mic, power. Did you try connecting it to test it?

Sorry I meant to put the whole model number in. The replacement I bought was the 6G9N18C815-TA (2 connection) the original is 6F6N-14C230-RC. (3 connection) The pic I posted is of the original connector plugs
Here is the one bought to replace it

Missing the 12 pin (black)

ok thx. You’re pointing to IP058 connector which is used for standard stereo. Those wires are your speaker wires. If you have a standard audio system, you have the wrong player (I think). It’s been a while for me. Please let us know if you have standard audio or premium. I fed those wires into the amp when converting to premium so you must have standard audio.
