Center Console Cover Replacement

The latches on the center console lid on our XK are broken. I've used cabinet door magnets to keep it closed but now I have a working replacement.
Problem is...I can't find a way to remove the felt lining of the console. There are no visible screws and it seems like it's glued to the console itself.
Does anyone have a solution for this?

A photo would be helpful, and you need to add your location to your signature.

Used OEM lids occasionally show up on Ebay. Here's one that appears to match your interior, complete with brackets, for $116.41 delivered:

Leather can easily be re-dyed to look almost as good as new.

I already have the replacement lid and bracket - $60 from eBay

I not sure what purpose a photo of the empty console would serve. I assume they're all identical in 2007 XK's, but here it is.

Thanks Stuart, but what I want is to replace the existing lid assembly with the new one that actually works as it should.
To do that, I need to remove the console interior to get at the screws on the hinge without having to cut the lining back near the hinge, or worse, to have to remove the entire console.

You have to take out the console to get at the screws. I’ve had my console out a couple times and saw the screws under there.

That's what I was afraid of.
Thanks, I think. :icon_confused:

Thanks for the advice.
Got the new lid installed this morning. Not too difficult but a little time consuming.

Sorry I didnt see this sooner. Anyway for those of you that stumble across this thread, you have to remove the leather trim on the sides of the center console ( they pop out with a moderate tug) to access the screws that hold the main hinge of the cubby lid/ center arm rest cover. If you have the workshop manual, it covers it in great detail.

Sorry to dig this up,

I'm having trouble changing my console lid, I can pop the sides off to an extent, but they won't come off towards the rear of the car.
Does the shift knob center parts have to come out as well?

Guidance please
