Default Compliments

Yesterday reminded me that the XKs are still striking. So my friend calls me up to see if I wanted to grab a quick bite to eat yesterday so I thought I'd take the XKR as I was driving the SL65 most of the day. He decided to bring his Viper and so we parked next to each other right in front of the resturant. While in the resturant, I actually had more compliments and people asking me what kind of car mine was over my buddy's Viper.

I'm sure you guys get compliments all the time with your XK(R)s also!

I totally agree, vipers are very cool, are more marketed and publicized to the general public and they get loads of looks and admirers, but I can absolutely see your XK getting more comments, questions and stares when put in the same lot as the viper, let alone sitting next to it. keep up the good work ghost!

I get more people yelling things to me in the XK, especially when I'm driving around with the top down. It's all types too - gang bangers, import guys, big truck owners... I even had this much older gentleman (80+?) yell out "nice car!" when I was puling out of a parking lot of a restaurant.

This never happened in my previous cars, even with a SUV with vertical doors.

A SUV with vertical doors ? I bet that was an Escalade lol
XKs really stand out more than its rivals . Only American that might beat XK must be FORD GT40 besides exotic Italians

I got my 08 Portfolio last Saturday and didn't have the car 2 hours before the first person waved at me to roll down my window. He was a 20+ in a tricked out Mitsu, it was funny because he said that his dad had one exactly like mine and started rattling off every spec for a portfolio. Today I had another admirer at a stop light, this time it was a older fellow (70+ I would guess) with his wife who wanted to know what model Jag it was and to tell me how much he liked it.

So twice for me in the first 7 days of ownership. I think I bought the right car.

It was actually an Infiniti FX35 - here's a link to a pic, don't want to jack this thread with a big embedded picture.

Again, apologies for continuing the thread jack... the Infiniti was a great car for me, was custom supercharged to about 400HP. BBK, lambo doors, big sound system, and lots of other little custom and one-off things - had 2 magazine features with it.

We all have the "right" vehicles...if you're shy you should get the windows blacked out and keep the top up. Had a girl next to me at a stoplight once yell "Is that a Camaro?"...I kept my cool and explained that, no, it is a Jaguar. She paused a little then said "Do you need a girlfriend?" Ha, ha. And that with an old and ugly brute like me at the wheel.........

Same thing happen to me. I agreed to meet my friend at a local watering hole yesterday.
He drives black 99 SL500 and I 07 silver XKR convertible, both tops down.
We where sitting out in the patio admiring our cars, table next to us where a group of girls. We could not help over hearing how much they preferred the Jag over the Benz.
My friend had to admit that the Jag was sexier.
