Cooled Seats -- What year did they start and which trims?

I read a post saying that the 10s have them but couldn't find the first year.

And it also said the Rs and portfolios, but I've never seen them listed in the features list on an ad. I would like to know if they came standard in all Rs after a certain date.

Thanks

Pretty sure they were standard on all MY except for competition seats. I know even my 07 vert had em.

At least in the 2011 US brochure, they are stated as standard.

I believe for most, maybe all model years where available, they were an option in Europe, coming with a luxury pack like Portfolio or R-Performance.

My 2012 XKR window sticker lists the heated/cooled seats as a standard comfort feature.

I believe standard feature they are 2010+ on the XKR in the U.S. market.

My 07 xkr has heated no cooling

I don't think the "Touring Edition" had the cooling feature. (They do not have the small holes in the seat cushion/ seat back.)

Can one of you post a pic of how you turn them on? I've been in a few and never have found out how to do it so I just assumed they didn't have it.

See this video. you press the little seat button and then adjust up and down for cool and heat. Jump to 1:22

Fantastic, thanks. I've yet to see that in one I've been in. Seems like it is just the 10s and newer. May be out of the price range i want to spend for a fourth car.

My UK 2014 Dynamic has 'supersport' seats with diamond shaped stitching (black with red) apparently the supersport seats are 15k lighter than stock due to the cut-outs and I assume lack of cooling?

I've never felt the need for cooled seats in my 37ys of UK driving, but if I lived somewhere hotter then possibly. And yes am aware they look like a man with his hands behind his head wearing a bow tie :D

My 2008 XK has the holes in the seat. It has heated seats, but does not have cooled seats. I don't believe they were available until 2010+.

Marky - did anyone tell you your seats look like a man with his hands behind his head wearing a bow tie?
