CTEK 4.3 MUS question
I've been using multiple CTEK 3300 maintainers for the last number of years. I recently stepped up to the CTEK 4.3 MUS for my 2010 Jaguar XK. It has been on my car for a number of days and I have still not noticed stage 8 light up. Stage 7 is constantly on which shows fully charged but stage 8 is supposed to be pulsation. When should I notice stage 8 going on and how long does it stay on? Any help would be appreciated.

Since you apparently don't have the User Manual, here's a copy of the relevant pages ftom mine for your convenience.

Paragraph 4 of the above OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS provides, in part; "The battery is fully charged when STEP 7 is lit." The next photo explains that Step 7 maintains a constant voltage to keep the battery fully charged. Step 8 occurs when the constant voltage level is insufficient to maintain a full charge, so the CTEK wakes up and gives the battery CPR to keep it alive and fully charged - additional zaps (pulses) to fill it back up. How long will it keep pulsing? My guess is that it varies, and is as long as it takes to keep the battery fully charged. But if you open a door, it may go back to Step 7 and start over again.
I wonder if calling STEP 8 the PULSE mode was an intentional pun. If there's still a pulse, then resuscitation is possible. Otherwise, it's flat lined - as in a flat or dead battery. :) |

Why? I was trying to be nice and meant no harm. But that's OK; I'm used to it, 'cuz I get that all the time from my wife! :icon_slap:
