Default Hi -- Focusing on an 07 XK

Since it has specific questions for a specific Jag, reposting my intro here in the X150 forum. Good to meet all of you and looking forward to participating as I learn more. Thanks!

So, long time BMW owner, I joined JaguarForum a few years ago to learn. Finally, I bought an 07 XK for a good price, with full maintenance records. Been fixing my own cars for 40 years, and wanted to learn a new one. Live in Ft Lauderdale, retired from tech companies, and relax by working on (interesting) cars.

A few questions, and thanks in advance for your help. Please forgive the bolds, but trying to be focused with my queries.

Diagnostic Software: BMW's have lots of diag software floating around: INPA, ISTA and so on. Lots of it is dealer level stuff. Question: Is there a robust diagnostic SW package available for the x150 series?
ODBII: lots of BMW specific code readers. Is there a recommendation for Jag-specific code readers?
Maintenance manual: Found an online copy of the XK Service Manual, so all set there. 4000 pages? Anyone want one, I can forward the download site.
Parts lists: BMW parts lists are available (realoem, for example). Is there an online site for X150 part numbers?
OEM parts: Many places to get BMW oem parts (that is, parts made by the same manufacturer as BMW gets them from). Is there an OEM source for Jag parts?

Again, thanks, and I'm looking forward to DIY'ing -- and driving -- a new to me car.

Cheers--

Yes, you can use SDD or LRII reader.

Download JEPC to reference part illustrations and part numbers.

Regarding DTCs: use the Jaguar specific definitions, not the generic ones listed in any code reader device.

Did you not think to look in the "stickies" at the top of the threads?

If not, I wasted a lot of my time putting the thread together.

Hi, Hermann, I found it another place, but as I'm learning this forum, I also found it in the stickies.

Like me, you're new here, and it takes awhile to find the resources. Note GGG's comments as well. Thanks GGG!

NBCat -- exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for helping a newbie!

Those are the four things I need to get started.

Best, Panthera.

Make good use of the "threads" box at the upper right corner of this page. This branch of the forum has been around for many years. As a result, most if not all of the issues you will run across have been asked and answered before. Pay particular attention to the stickies area as there are many good pieces of information there. Oh, and welcome to the Forum and the Jaguar world. You should have great fun both driving and wrenching your new (to you) cat.

Thumbs up

Thanks very much, everyone, for your help.

As far as OBD diags, I decided to go with the SDD V130 package from JLR.

Its functionality reminds me of the ISTA package from BMW. In-depth code reading, plus the ability to engage certain systems and code some options.

Now, if I can be confident that a diagnostic app on an XP VM on W10 will work, it should be fine.

Best--
