Reading the on-line owners handbook I found a reference to recording the Wheel Lock Nut Code.

This make me think I need to make sure the dealer has the Key.

Do XK's come with some sort of wheel locks and should there be a key?

I'm putting together a check list I will forward to the dealer so there is no surprises when I drive 300 miles to pick up my car.

God no, theyre an optional accessory and thankfully most owner do not get them. Theyre a sure way to not get your own wheels off, they get lost and broken and any good thief can easily take them off just like us techs do when the keys are lost....

 

I agree, I hate wheen locks, hell the fact I'm driving a car with a canvas top tells the bad guys if they don't get the tires and wheels to then totally trash the top.

If the car locks they are coming off.

I feel just the opposite. I picked up my 2008 XK conv on March 19th and realized after the fact it did not have wheel locks. I live on Long Island, NY and will be parking the car at the train station since I work in Manhattan, and for a little piece of mind, I definitly want the wheel locks. I know a pro can bypass them, but it may slow them down for a couple minutes and what about the amatuers. A set of wheels and tires is worth over 4 grand. The dealer is giving me a set for free and I am happy to have them.
