F Type Carbon Ceramic brakes on XKR

Hi Guys,

Come across a listing of F Type CC brakes, with discs, calipers and the rear hubs for sale. What is needed to get them into the XKR?
Thanks in advanced!

Paul what are you getting them for?

A) weight saving
B) Improved braking performance
C) A bit of both

I may be wrong but it should be a straight bolt on replacement as I had Wortec discs designed for the F Type fitted to my XKR. They used the same calipers and gave me a weight saving greater than the CC discs & pads, cost fitted was £2.5k

I might be wrong but the actual caliper/carrier will be steel, only the pad itself is ceramic and there are quite a few ceramic pads out there.

I may be tempted to to upgrade my standard calipers (2 pot at front and single at rear) in a few years, but for now am happy with the improved braking performance and minimum dust from fitting EBC red

May be worthwhile speaking to a local Indy and check what their install costs would be, in the meantime here's a pic of my wortec's fitted

very nice setup. I too saw the F type carbon ceramic brakes. Wondering if they will fit my 2009 XK? Been looking to upgrade my brakes with either Alcon or XKR brakes...

Retrofitting OEM Alcon 6-piston front and 4-piston rear calipers and crescent-grooved rotors, electronic parking brake and related brackets etc., can be done but it's very expensive even if you can find all those parts used. I recommend that you save your money and put that cost towards either a 2008 XKR Portfolio, which included as standard equipment the Alcon Performance Brake package, or a 2009 XKR Portfolio that has the $5,000 optional APB package.

I have a 2010 XKR, I didn't fancy the 4.2. It's lowered, and had some cosmetic bits to make it my own. Which is why I asked if it was doable. If I wanted a 2008/2009 XKR I would've looked at getting one in the first place.

Anything is doable if you have enough money. Whether it makes sense is another matter.

You need to create a signature that includes your model year and any other information that can help Forum members reply to your questions. How was I to know that you have a 5.0L XKR and aren't interested in a 4.2L? Alcons were never available for the 5.0L models.

I apologise, I thought I said year in the original post!
Sorry mate

I'd be interested in fitting the carbon ceramic calipers just for looks. They may work fine but I think the floating style calipers just look cheap.
