Front end protection

Most of you probably know this already but several good coats of wax (you really can't have too many coats) on the front bumper cover goes a long way in protecting it from bugs, nicks et all. At the very least it makes getting stuff off A LOT EASIER. If you do get bug stains etc., use a soft sponge and hot water to soak it take your time and go slow. Use a good quality instant detailer, Mothers, Meguiars etc. Stuff really does work.
I have a black 07 and would like to have had a clear bra installed but my local guy wont even do it because on black cars it simply wont meet expectations. Hope this helps some members. Be safe.

Thanks, Rick. I went through a similar dilemma recently due to the appearance of a few small road rash dings on the the front end of my XK8. I had also contemplated the clear shield, but thought it would detract from the looks due to the dark red color of my car. (Full disclosure, my wife has a silver Mercedes with the clear shield on hers, and it's not noticeable at all and has done a terrific job of protecting the paint).

I opted for the 'black bra', ordered and installed about 3 weeks ago. I'm still getting used to the look of the thing sitting on the front of the car, which I find distracting.

I don't like the feel of detailing a car with clear shield. Taping around the whole edge is a pain...
