Sorry - I know the Z06 comes in auto. Meant to say that I chose the manual. Agree with you assessment that auto is faster but I felt that manual would be more fun for me. Both are great options IMO! Nice to meet/know of a fellow corvette/Jag owner!

That's a nice garage with a Z06 and an XKRS. A couple of months ago, I met the owner of the first Z06 sold in Los Angeles at our local Supercar Sunday event. I was impressed by the changes to the body (especially the front grill and the rocker skirts) of the Z06 compared to the stock 'Vette. It changes the character of the car. In the year that I've owned my XKR, it's been at the track 3 times (and going to another Hooked on Driving track day in two weeks), and works surprisingly well and feels quite at home. So the solution is take both and alternate for fun.
