I believe my brakes are still OEM on my 40,000 mile ‘15 XKR. And I hate how much brake dust gets in my wheels, so I asked ChatGPT. Yes, this thread is Bout rotors, not pads.
“For your 2015 Jaguar XKR, which is a high-performance grand tourer, you’ll want ceramic brake pads that balance low dust, quiet operation, and solid stopping power—without compromising the refined character of the car.
Recommended Low-Dust Ceramic Pads for 2015 Jaguar XKR:
1. Akebono Euro Ultra-Premium Ceramic (EUR Series)
Designed specifically for European luxury/performance cars
Very low dust, rotor-friendly, and quiet
OE-level refinement and pedal feel
Ideal for daily driving and spirited cruising
2. PowerStop Z16 or Z17 Evolution Ceramic
Low dust and quiet performance
Good value for money
Suitable for street use, but not for aggressive track driving
3. Bosch QuietCast Ceramic
Known for consistent performance, low dust, and quiet stops
OE-style fit and performance
Great for balanced street driving
4. Wagner ThermoQuiet Ceramic
Quiet, clean, and long-lasting
Effective for smooth road use
Slightly less performance-focused than Akebono
Important Notes:
The XKR’s supercharged V8 and Brembo brake setup mean pad fitment must be exact, so verify that the chosen pad is specified for the Supercharged/XKR model and not the base XK.
If you do spirited canyon driving or occasional hard braking, Akebono Euro offers the best balance between performance and low dust.
Always pair new pads with a fresh rotor surface (resurfaced or new rotors) to get the most out of low-dust pads.
Then I asked her for matching rotors:
Since your 2015 Jaguar XKR uses high-performance Brembo brakes, you’ll want rotors that maintain braking effectiveness without generating excess dust or noise, and that match the clean operation of ceramic pads.
Here are some high-quality rotor options compatible with the XKR’s Brembo setup (typically 355mm front rotors and 326mm rear):
Recommended Rotors for 2015 Jaguar XKR
1.Centric Premium High-Carbon Plain Rotors
High-carbon metallurgy resists warping and improves heat dissipation
Plain (non-drilled/slotted), perfect for quiet, dust-free operation with ceramic pads
Very rotor-friendly and good for daily driving and spirited runs
Great match with Akebono or Bosch ceramic pads
2. Brembo OE Replacement Rotors
Same brand as your original equipment
Perfect fit and finish, with OEM-quality metallurgy
Excellent choice if you want to keep the car as close to factory spec as possible
Pair perfectly with Akebono Euro or other premium pads
3. PowerStop Evolution Coated Rotors
Zinc-plated for corrosion resistance
Smooth-faced rotors (not slotted/drilled)
Designed to work well with PowerStop ceramic pads
Good value option for clean, reliable stopping power
4. EBC RK Series Premium OE Replacement Rotors
Non-slotted, non-drilled for maximum pad contact and low noise
Designed for luxury and performance cars
A great fit if pairing with EBC Redstuff or Akebono pads
Avoid These (for Your Goals):
Cross-drilled/slotted rotors: while they look sporty, they tend to increase dust and noise, and aren’t necessary unless tracking the car.
Cheap unbranded rotors: can warp or develop hotspots quickly, especially under a heavy car like the XKR.

Very interesting to see Ai never recommends slotted or drilled rotors just plain ones. I can get Zimmerman plain rotors but I was hoping to match to the crescent cutouts in the OEM and because my rears are only 10km old and have the crescent cuts I like it to match. perhaps its not a big deal to get flat plain rotors after all.
Oh side note fyi. Called two dealerships one in Vic and MCL Motors in Van were my rears were done. Jag vic 1527.00 per rotor lol... MCL was 1921.00 right and 1876.00 left rotor lol The dealerships are shameless ....

Where are you getting the Zimmermans - I just checked their catalogue - it doesn't show Alcon rotors only pads:
I have drilled and slotted rotors on my Ford Sport Trac - work fine and I don't find them noisy.
It’s just what my shop told me they could get but I’m thinking I go with what you have bought from Car iD. I have account with them too as I’ve ordered items for my old m3.
im still waiting for a final confirmation from Lordco on the Centrics availability…
DFC rotors I’ve never heard of but assume are good to go ?
I agree with most of what XKDreams said, with the exception of cross drilled / slotted rotors. Of course they're beneficial on the track, but they can also be effective on the street. Are they necessary for the street? No, but the drilling helps cooling, and the slotting will help dissipate water and the slots help keep the pad wearing evenly. I have drilled/slotted rotors on my Jag and drilled rotors on the other sports cars. Never any issues with noise. Someone here said that drilling makes them crack more easily, but that's not true.
And if you want less brake dust, just go with ceramic pads.
My front DFC rotors arrived - the rears were were mislabeled so they are re-sending them - no duties or tariffs out of the states. I guess they forgot to drill 'em.
I admit that when I use the brakes, it is either just slowing gently to a stop or heavy from elevated speeds.
Initially I installed PowerStop rotors with some ceramics included with the ‘kit’.
They started pulsating @ 12K miles.
I replaced those rotors with Brembo OE Replacement, they started pulsating @ 10K miles.
I installed Brembos again but am starting to feels a slight pulse, I have 4K miles on them.
Next time I’ll be replacing pads + rotors. Thinking Porterfield + Brembo.
Also, I only had one set of brake rotors crack in my many years of driving. They were on a 928S, and were Brembos that had been drilled. (not by Brembo).
So yes, they can crack!
and I definitely warped a set of front rotors on a Kawaski zx11 while doing a powerstop from 175 MPH. The rotors actually wobbled when placed on a flat surface.

Interesting they are not drilled, did you speak to them or you dont care ?
Ok rotors arrived , I ended up and maybe I made a mistake to go with the crescent slots so they match the rears. Difference part number, not the premium but the way I drive it’s no issue. All looks good. Install is next Wednesday so can report back .. thank you Mj for all the info and everyone one else. Landed from Car ID ( I got hit with 54 bucks duties ) was around 500. 460 cad and duty. Pic below

Why do you think you may have made a mistake? Good choice, IMHO.
