How long will you keep your XK?

I am very good when it comes to buying cars. When it comes to selling them, not so much.
My first new car was a 1973 Triumph TR6.....still in my carport. More recently I bought a 1991 XJS in 2001. It was my daily driver until the timing chain tensioner broke in 2015 at 110,000 miles. It was going to cost far more than the car was worth to fix, so enter my current Jag, a 2007 XK coupe. No plans to sell, LOVE the car. Totally dependable, a joy on long trips (NC to Key West).

8 years 126,500 miles
07 XK convertible. Purchased as select edition in March 2010 with 2300 miles. Will soon be 8 years of ownership and 124,200 miles later. Daily Driver. Absolutely puuurfect in every way. Still regularly maintained by authorized dealer. Won 1st and 2nd place in JCNA annual concours d' elegance. Not much new out there than I'm interested in. Did see a Mercedes SLR cabriolet which was quitter nice and the new BMS i8 convertible is a stunner but for now still perfectly happy with my JAG.

I agree, depreciation of course has already taken most of the value away if you purchased new, (after 3-4 years) and with low mileage, the fun is still to come. Good going!

I've had my 07 XKR for 2.5 years and I spect when the time comes to upgrade to a 2010 or newer XKR or a XKRS or a Vantage or a Bentley Continental GT, or.... I will just park this one down in the shed next to the rest of the pride.

For me, the fact that I didn't get an XKR may shorten the time I have it.
Up till now I have never sold a car.
If a good condition caramel interior XKR I liked came up for sale at a local dealer I might do a trade in.
I also might consider a 2012+ XJ V8 Supercharged or XF V8 Supercharged, but the lack of the wood and caramel interior means that is not likely.
I really enjoy the interior color I have and it is not common on any model of car. Caramel is warm, inviting, tranquil. I feel less stress inside the XK than other cars.
If something goes wrong to the point I could buy another car for less, that is also a point where I might change cars.

[QUOTE=Wolfy;1854202]Does anyone think this is a good contender for the XKR?
2015 S-Class Coupe:
To me it's just another MB which is a car that I won't own. When you see the 3 point star coming at you the tendency to take a better look is diminished due to their commonality. As for it's specifications and performance it may well be ahead of the XK but as for style they all look alike. Just my 2 cents.

I agree for the most part however there are a few MB models that still turn heads for their rarity IMO -- CL coupe, AMG GT S Coupe.
