One of my XK's previous owners had the XK and 4.2 badges removed...and they were just there, lying in a little plastic satchel.
I was looking for a Jaguar key ring and was at some point considering buying a "leaper" one for one of my keys.
And then the idea came to me to just use the removed badges as key rings!
All it took was a drill, a few metal rings, a little time...et voilŕ: an "XK" key ring and a "4.2" one, so that both my fobs can have their own!
Well it sure is no professional work, but I guess it gets the job done...
If you guys are interested in doing the same kind of stuff: start with a smaller drill bit from the back of the badges to the front. This will enable you to keep your drill bit stable as the back surface is flat, unlike the front (which will make the bit slip - which is why some of my holes are not quite in the middle...). Then drill the final holes from front to back with a bit of a larger diameter. The previously made holes will guide the drill bit and drilling the final holes from front to back will prevent the chrome paint from chipping.

That's nice and it's clever, but a fob is not for me.
I don't need my Smartkey to be any larger than it already is. Years ago, I put it on this keyring and took it off after a couple of days because it weighed too much and was uncomfortable.
The work looks fine, but I'm a minimalist...... just the Smart Key for me. Same with all my vehicles; just that vehicle's key and I'm gone. I have fancy-schmancy house locks so Ring-o-Keys for me on that front.
The two trims on the sides of the Smartkey are also chromed plastic just like the XK 4.2 badges and they do scratch very easily. My XK has keyless entry so the Smartkey never needs to come out of my pocket but I still keep it in a cover to avoid scratching.
