Default iPod woes!

Hi Forum,

I bought the cable the $100 cable, (ridiculous price), from Jaguar that goes plugs into the center console....I've also bought the adapter cable that plugs into that...so I have all the cables and my iPod should work right?.....wrong. It recognizes the iPod, but stays "paused." I push play on the center screen in the car or on the iPod and it still says paused. I unplug the iPod and the iPod plays fine....I plug it back into the car and it pauses. Has anyone experienced this? WTF, I'm getting frustrated with this now and and I'm out $150 on cables. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Why bother with a primitive iPod with expensive cables? Just plug in a $10 USB drive. It will probably sound better too.

I don't have the adapter, so mine doesn't charge the Ipod, but the interface with the car is slow. I got a USB stick, and its much faster.

Downside, I haven't tried figuring out how to get playlists going, but I haven't tried yet either.

Bklynchris, I just ordered a replacement cable from Amazon sold by X-PERT-S USA FOR $23.44 plus tax. It is longer than the Jaguar cable and is working flawlessly. Hope this helps

As I recall, Jaguar made at least 2 versions of their iPod cable. My 2009 was the first model year for iPod integration and although the OEM cable worked I was disappointed that it did not simultaneously charge my iPod. That was remedied in 2010 with the second generation cable, but it cost over $100 from my Jaguar dealer. A much less costly alternative was to buy a Scosche adapter to use with my first gen cable, which I did, and it plays and charges fine. I have an ancient gen 5 iPod nano.

I suspect that your cable may be the first version or be a defective second version. What is the part #? Go to your Jaguar dealer and try another cable. What " adapter" are you talking about? The new style Lightning plug adapter? Genuine Apple? If not, that might be the problem. What model iPod? Read this - it may help: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...nano-6g-50122/

TxXKR,

Do you have the link for your cable? I tried linking it through the USB cable and it would not dock, so I would like to try your solution. I did a search on Amazon but none of the results seem to work.

Thanks for your help!

Stephen.
