Default Jaguar XK--5th worst selling model of 2013

Seeing just how few Jaguar XKs were sold last year makes me feel even more special to drive one. That being said, they only sold 1346 last year. I imagine this number is for US sales.

Can you say future collectible??

Some data:

There are many ways to put a spin on this data, either positive or negative. Decide for yourself.

These are the numbers:

I think what the data shows is that the XK is literally one of the most exclusive cars you can buy for under $100k! Granted, many of the cars on the "Top 10 Worst Selling Cars of 2013" list are rare for a reason. I don't think the XK is one of those cars, though...

Article makes no sense. How can you compare sales of a $99,000 car to a $20,000 car? Articles classify "worse selling" cars because they are exclusive (expense) and only affordable by a much smaller segment of the population. A better study would compare equally comparable cars in the price range. So, more Ford fusions are sold than XK's does this mean the fusion is a better car because the number sold was more? Article is meaningless garbage with no relevance.

Yeah, it is pretty useless. I think you need to just take it for what it is--the lowest volume models under $100k. Don't read anything else into it!

The article has a negative tone but I'm happy to know that there are not that many XKs on the street. to spend 100k and get that kind of exclusivity as well as a great car makes me happy.

My thought exactly! Not many people can afford even a 50K new car much less an XK - let a lone an R. No relevance at all.

The same article could've added McLaren and certain Lamborghini and Ferrari models since they don't sell many either. That article is a waste of time.

I think the real interesting thing are the cars on this list that ARE intended to be volume sellers. Like the Acura ZDX. Or Volvo C30.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but they appear to be counting XK, not XKR - they say they eliminated models over $100k. Anyway, I'm not surprised XK sales are down 18%, with competition from the XFR and the F-Type.

Jalopnik just wrote an article titled "dear America you suck for not buying these cars in 2013"

Well, I'm in Canada and in 2008 only 132 XK's were sold
I'm sure the greater portion were convertibles unlike my coupe.
Feels good to be driving something I can honestly say is rare

Some pretty stiff competition surfacing in the GT range. In my opinion, the XK line and the F-Type are better looking than both.

A low selling car is one where there's two year plus old new cars sitting on the dealer's lot. Low production does not mean worst selling.

Well by that metric, the F-Type must be the worst selling Jaguar of all time!
