To make it XKR related - would you or would you not park a convertible so you could sit in it and watch movies from the car?

You will not BELIEVE what?s inside this house.. Take a Look and be Amazed.. : Epic Internet

I need a garage that size and that clean.

Some of you know that I am involved with a company that is beginning to build fully automated parking garages. We built our first one which acts as our prototype as part of an apartment building that parks and retrieves the tenants' cars automatically without any other effort than pulling into a covered car lobby. Our first large scale commercial lot begins next week.

But near the end of the year or beginning of next year, we will be bulding a 12 space automated garage for a $30 million spec house in Bel Air, CA. The developer feels this will be the "cherry" on top that makes the house too attractive to resist.

For the house that has everything....

I take it the owner is most likely a bachelor, lol??? For sure a guy designed the house and decor. Very cool.

Funny part is I was gawking at those in Japan back in 1980! Very cool stuff!

R_Rated,
We may take you up on that offer. Below is a link to a youtube video of part of a show that the Travel Channel did on our prototype structure after it's Grand Opening.

Next week we begin work on a 200+ structure at a commercial complex in the West Los Angeles/Culver City area and are working on designs for structures all over the country.

I think you'll find it fascinating.

We have one of those in Charlotte. If you bought a condo in that building they gave you a porsche.

mosesbotbol,
It is not like the Porsche Towers. The Porsche Tower's unit is simply an elevator for cars which takes the cars up to the floor of the unit, the same way as you would go up an elevator. Our system is really an automated storage rack system like in automated warehouses that happens to store cars. But, our system doesn't necessarily have to store automobiles, it can store storage containers, drydock boats, really just about anything that can be transferred onto a specially constructed pallet.

Automated parking garages have been in the far east for 30 years or more. What makes ours a bit unique is that typically these structures are buildings with concrete decks to which a delivery system is attached, meaning you're essentially building a whole building with all of the structural requirements and costs. Our system relies only on an "Erector Set" type of structural steel beams, BOLTED TOGETHER, not welded! with a special collar that accepts both vertical and horizontal I beams, and none of the structural requirements of building codes (it's classified as a storage rack system) or the expenses of bulding a building. Those I beams, in turn, become the parking space to which the pallet by way of rollers and parasitic gears slides into.

The 3 story external rack system of our prototype which can be seen going up at the end of the video and which housed the on grade drive in area and the two floors of above grade parking was constructed in 8 hours of one day!!!

We can't wait to see this larger system go up, and we're working with a couple of companies on 600-4000 space systems.

Stay tuned!

I've seen several different types of automated parking systems and this one seems to be the best IMO
