lights with a mind of their own

My 2013 XK 5.0 is acting wierd.
I park it up, lock the doors and within 10 minutes the brake lights / tail lights switch themselves on for absolutely no reason.
Tried again and again, locking/unlocking taking for a drive and its just keeping on doing the same.

Seems not do do when I leave the car unlocked but obviously I cant do this unless it's locked away in the garage.

does anyone have any ideas?
thanks, Ian

Do a voltage check on the battery and see what you get. 12.6 V

+1 on the above but also check the ground points in and around the engine bay.:)

sorry, should have said, brand new battery yesterday

BRAND NEW BATTERIES are usually very low on voltage and should be charged at least overnight with a decent (10 Amp or greater) battery charger.

This is probably (90% certain) the cause.
