The only answer is to shop everyone. There are plenty of online resources. Understand that the insurer has a target mix of business by perceived risk. If the risk pool is underweight, for example, older careful drivers that insurer will be very competitive in that market segment. Once at the target weighting, they will return to their standard rate. Hence pricing varies constantly by risk category and your goal is to find the carrier that's aggressively pricing your characteristic.

Another thought is look at AMICA. It's a mutual company that rebates annually to it's policy holders based on underwriting experience.

A generalization, but useful for comparison purposes. Move from New Jersey to North Carolina and cut your car insurance in half!

$827 per year. Full coverage, of course. Includes Diminished Value clause also. Multiple vehicle discount, house discount and such also.
USAA has always been good to me and i've seen how they've taken care of a few of my friends after accidents so I don't even care if they're the cheapest.

USAA has been great to me over the past 30+ years.

I dunno. That chart has too many unknown variables. I have two cars, both insured in full and don't pay anywhere near that rate.
I use Progressive and Geico (check rates and swap annually if one is lower) I pay $380 for the year on my Jaguar. Full comp and collision, $500 deductible.

I like the $380 price. I'm not sure about here in Florida. I drive maybe 700 miles a year and both my cars cost me over 2 grand. I get the 20% discount on the second car by combining them, but it's getting pricey. Once a car get old the premium can climb as well. I'll price out Haggerty when I get closer to renewal.

If you're a Senior Citizen, join AARP and get a quote from the AARP/The Hartford. From what I understand, it's a special product with a pool of older drivers. Many people incorrectly believe that old folks are high risk, mainly because of the occasional serious crash on TV news involving Miss Daisy. That's actually the exception; most older drivers are retired and drive far fewer miles and at much lower speeds than when they were commuting to work daily at highway speeds. So, when they have an accident, there is a lesser degree of personal injury and property damage with a corresponding lower loss payout.

The highest risk group is drivers under age 25, and they are not part of the risk pool for this product. Because of the relatively low losses, this policy offers low rates. This is, of course, a generalization and individual rates vary by coverages/deductibles, state and zip code, driving history, credit rating, discounts for bundling with homeowners and umbrella insurance, and other factors.

Shop around. An oldie but goodie!

Or as my Gramma used to say... "I've never been in an accident, but there sure are a lot of them around me".

Her car was very low mileage because she drove it only on Sundays ... 1/4 mile at a time!

Who is that insured through because it seems very very low. I am paying $858NZ on my '10 XKR and that is only around $30NZ more than I paid on my '07 XKR.

Even our 2004 3.0R Subaru Outback is $481NZ!

I have 4 cars, and a teenaged daughter driving. $1,000 deductible.

2008 Jag XK - $1276/yr.
98 Mercedes E430 - $859/yr - liability only
98 BMW 328i - $687/yr - liability only
2013 Nissan Pathfinder - $1836/yr - daughter is main driver.

Our rates are high. Probably because Louisiana drivers are terrible.

$1263.41 for four cars with 2010 XKR being $339.36. $500,000/$500,000 on bodily $100,000 on property. Collision only on 2014 Subaru. Live in North Carolina which seams to help. Also had one accident last year.

No collision on Jaguar? The rivet construction makes it one of the more expensive cars to repair.

Trust me, even without the rivets, it is expensive to repair. My car was $10,000 for a rear end repair that didn't even bother the riveted areas.

I can see not having collision on an 07 or maybe even an 08 base. Carriers are likely to total them if they can. But I'd personally have collision on MY09 upward.

Well, even if totaled, you get the money needed to get another car or pay off your loan. So carrying collision still will get you 20-25K on 07's or 08's. Still worthwhile IMO.

Yeah my zip code, near downtown LA, kills me.
My uncle was in insurance for a while. He also says that "R" is a killer-- something about crossing some 10:1 weight/horsepower ratio. Makes the car more expensive to insure, apparently. And then (in my case) you add that it's a convertible... you don't wanna know.
