MAFs, anyone used Denso parts?
My car (probably) needs the MAFs changed - going to try cleaning them this weekend but if that doesn't work I'll swap them out. The OEM parts from Jaguar are around GB £186 each but a little internet detective work suggests that these are manufactured by Denso with their part number DMA-0114 (Jaguar part number is C2C7636). These are available for around half the cost of what is probably exactly the same thing from Jaguar dealers.
Has anyone used these, or somehow else able to confirm that this is the correct part?

I haven't checked too deeply but the Denso part does cross reference to earlier Jaguar models. Did you check WERS numbers?
EDIT: Not certain if this matters but the Jaguar/Denso C2C7636 number is 197400-3031 and matches Suburus, Mazdas & Jaguars with a price of around $50 USD and the Denso one is 197400-2090 and comes up with Suburus only as far as I can tell.
But I have read on some sites the numbers are interchangeable.

Hi, thanks for that. I did see your reply I think on the other forum. I tried this yesterday, managed to get the left (passenger) side one out and sprayed a bit with electrical contact cleaner but the right side one looks to be a pain - what did you have to do about all the wiring that runs underneath the airbox on that side? It appears to be attached to the airbox somehow, did you find some way to move it out of the way other than tracing each cable and disconnecting the plugs?

I recommend that you use the correct mass air flow sensor cleaner spray instead of electrical contact cleaner. The latter has a small amount of lubricant in it, as it was intended for use with electrical switches. You don't need lubricant on the MAF sensor as that will attract dust...

Awesome, thanks for that. Where did you find that information? I don't know what a WERS number is, sounds like you have a more accurate source than I found.

Hi 8-Bit, yes the right hand side is a bit fiddly, I was able to unplug the connectors and then slide off the plugs from the airbox itself.

@kerb, thanks for that, I'll bear that in mind for attempt number 2.

Just to round out this thread, I changed both my original MAFs for the Denso parts yesterday, Denso part number DMA-0114. The supplier checked and verified that these are correct for my car (4.2 X150 XKR). The 197400-x numbers are Denso OEM numbers; they all relate back to the main part number DMA-0114 which is the same part for all applications.
No issues noted, I had Torque running on my phone logging airflow and AFR while out on a short test drive last night, all seemed fine. No fault codes, will check periodically and report back if anything comes up.
