Walmart is not listed as a participating retailer, see the promotion terms and conditions. So you basically have to pay an inflated price at a FLAPS, then you can apply for the rebate.

It's not listed but they take Walmart receipt. I bought it at Walmart for $~23 and got the rebate.

I cant use it even on my Chevy 350, when I do I lose 2 quarts over 4months. Same engine running Pennszoil Ultra, down only 1/2 a quart in 6 months.
Its overrated garbage and why always on sale.

Its not a true synthetic to describe it briefly. Mobil 1 oils that are true synthetics from POA stocks (and certified by many manufacturers)- are never on sale- ever)

You're probably right. The oils spec for my 07 is WSS-M2C-913B

Mobil 1 is Ford WSS-M2C945-A and WSS-M2C930A

Here are the oils that meet WSS-M2C-913C which is backward compatible with WSS-M2C-913B

Interesting. I have about 500,000 miles on multiple vehicles including 1986 Mustang GT 5.0L, from new to 130k miles, 2002 GMC Yukon 5.3L from new to 170k miles and still going), 2012 Hyundai Sonata 2.4L GDI from 40k miles to 70k miles, and various beaters in between. Change oil on all at about 5-6k miles. Never had a consumption issue.

I'm not married to it however, it's just a good price and readily available at Walmart. I think I used the Pennzoil once or twice when the correct weight I needed wasn't available..... I might change over on the Sonata (my son's car) (since it's GDI) based on your comments.

Note, not just any Pennzoil, only the Ultra- which is the only POA based oil that is reasonable- often $12 a gallon with rebate.
It has cleaning abilities that non POA dont have. Mobil, Castrol, both make this type of oil, but they want big bucks for it.

You can check it out on oil forums they love this oil.

I have 250k on the 5.7 (same truck as yours) you will get there too, where you ask the gas attendant to check the gas and fill the oil. lol

Shemp I went and looked up current offering of oil.
Guess what, Mobil has a new over-the-counter oil, I had never heard of till today

Mobil 1 Extended Performance High Mileage Formula

Which proves what I was saying- regular mobil one can be improved upon significantly. Specifically making the cleaners last twice as long. By their own admission. Which Pennzoil Ultra was doing all along.

Thanks. Hmm. I'll switch to that then. I've been using the regular High Mileage,

but not the Extended performance. Not sure if they have that on the shelf at my store but I'll look. It's on their site:

I had to contact Mobil to find out which actual Mobil1 product is the correct one for my Aston. V8 is looking for Castrol and V12 Mobil1, but it just gave spec's and no names. Mobil asked me to scan oil specifications requested in the owner's manual and came back with the exact product to use. I would assume Mobil will do the same on the XK with a copy of the owner's manual oil specifications. They were quick to respond.

When one thinks about it, its deceptive trade practices really.
With Mobil1 you either got advanced protection, or high mileage, (and now they themselves have proven those things did not have to be mutually elusive- in fact, it should be just the opposite)
With Pennzoil there are no games, you buy their top oil, the platinum ultra, you get everything that any oil has to offer. The only game they play is not to offer it to some retail stores. I assume that is their way of not sacrificing quality to meet a price point.
Who the F does not want oil that stays clean to 10,000 miles vs only 5,000 miles if the price s the same. (now you see how I was cooking 2 quarts in my burban)
I think Mobil1 has been forced by competition to offer their best at the same price as their other oils- just like Pennzoil has always done.

Hey want a million dollar idea. Come up with a CDB oil/fluids for electric cars. So spills can never harm the environment.

(just buy it online and have it shipped to the store for free if you want door dings that desperately from walmart parking lot)

Truth!

The main reason I buy at Walmart is the same EXACT oil at Autozone (right across the street actually) is usually $35 (5qt). Nuts. That said, I get most everything else from Autozone (I like the guys/gals there and try to support them when I can), and the rest, like OEM parts if needed, from Amazon.

Off topic, For some reason last year, I bought an alternator for my daughter's Sentra from Rock Auto. It **** the bed last month, I said, no worries, Autozone has lifetime warranty on their parts as I forgot that I bought it on Rock Auto until the fine gent at Autozone couldn't find it in their system. Sorry Rock auto, never again.

Ok, sorry folks, back to the oil banter.

Please pardon the slight threadjack- hopefully I will be forgiven for being specifically informative earlier.

I replaced my alternator Yesterday! from Autozone (because its covered under warranty) but have stopped giving them any of my new business, despite knowing the guys there for decades, man and boy.
Its was $154 for a remanufactued in Mexico alt. And a off brand. Or I could buy brand new Ac Delco from Rock Auto for $99. Basically you are paying upfront for that warranty. The no-name remaned one is $54 at RA
Went through 4 EGRs from AZ before breaking down and getting a new EGR from RA.

Catherine Tate fan are you?

Yea, Rock Auto, only one bad experience for me. Probably wouldn't have had an issue if I bought a name brand. No probs with Autozone parts.....yet, knock wood.
