Default Nav issue. My car thinks I'm in Illinois

I bought he car from a dealer in Chicago and had the car shipped to Florida. The navigation seems to be stuck in IL. If I try to add a destination, it always comes up with IL suggestions. Does anybody know how I can get the navigation to come to Florida?

If I remember correctly, you have to go into setup within the Nav operation and pick the region you are in. Since I haven't had my 2008 for two years, my memory is somewhat foggy on this issue. On the other hand you get a menu of choices on the left side the screen. Somewhere in that listing you should be able to find setup or something like user options. That is where you will find how to change regions.

Got it. There were two nav DVDs, one in the player, the other in the glove box. The one that was in the player did not have FL on it. So I took it out, inserted the other and then it gave me a FL option. My car and its nav are now together in Florida. Thanks!

That brings up an interesting point. We will be driving from NH to FL and spending 3 months there next winter. Do I have to get another Nav DVD to cover the South?

No, there is only an East and West DVD.

There were two DVDs that came with mine. The one that had my car thinking it was in IL and when I put the other one in, it found Florida. So maybe it's North and South, not East and West?

I bought a 2010 XKR up here in Seattle not too long ago. It came from Southern California. No problem with getting Seattle information without any DVD switch.

So, at least out on the left coast for a 2010 car, it doesn't appear to be a north/south issue...

A bit more convenient than Europe. Ours is a 4 DVD set!

Did a PI put a GPS tracker on the car ? this will do it... If it just randomly started doing this then ask yourself who wants to know where you are?
