Needed spare wheel with tire

Just purchased a 2010 xk coupe. Has 25000 miles, silver/ charcoal. Great shape , certified. After checking it out at home found out that the compact spare tire/wheel are missing! Does this compact spare have to be from a jag xk? Where can I get replacement. ? junk yard, heard there are some in Tampa area with a lot of jags. Has 19 inch wheels. Would like to get something cheaper than from jag dealership. thanks

bobdr1,

If your car came with runflat tires, then there was no spare from the factory. Instead, it came with a 12v inflator kit including a can of tire sealant (like Fix-a-Flat). That kit is under the spare wheel cover in the trunk well.

Even if it came with runflats, you can still add a compact spare, but only a Jaguar OEM compact spare will fit. (I think some Volvo compact spares will fit, too.) Did you buy it from a dealer or private party? I suggest you call the seller and ask if they have the spare. Do you have the molded plastic liner with the jack and toolkit? If not, you'll need that, too. Try eBay for a spare from a salvage car. But first check with your Jaguar dealer and make sure you get the part number for the correct compact spare.

If your car has Alcon brakes (which I doubt, since it has 19" wheels), see this thread: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...-brakes-67260/:

Hope this helps. If so, please click the Thanks button at the bottom right of this post.

If all else fails, keep a Bible in the trunk and pray you never get a flat!

Stuart

p.s. Didn't find any compact spares on eBay, but found several on eBay.co.uk. See: http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_od...1090&_from=R40
Note that the current generation 2007-up alloy-bodied XK/XKRs are referred to as X150. The prior generation is X100.
