New 2021 F-type looks tempting....
Just saw this video on youtube:
Excerpt from the video...
"Some service techs (at the dealers and indies) actually prefer working on this car than the F-Type...because this is built to a higher standard, and easier to work on."

I have an Austrian magazine that has summarised annual roadworthiness test results and the XK and the F-Type are lumped together but cars are in age bands. The XKs are totally green - very few faults in any areas. The newest cars (3 years old) will be the F-Type and one or two reds and oranges are popping up suggesting lower comparative quality. I don't remember off-hand what the weak areas are though. But most later sports cars seemed to show an increase in problems, not just Jaguar. More complexity or simply lower quality?
No, no, no, the top executives will get 002...; however, the same car can be bought for $65K and only 1 will be built with that VIN too. But we're not considering 100% of the $3,000,000 goes to charity and a billionaire bought it probably for that reason. A win for everyone.
It could be
but the XK was a much more expensive car than the XE.
I does appear to me that current premium cars are not that much better made than ordinary ones, both built to a price but premium ones having better tech and better looking materials, bigger engines, etc. Premium cars are no longer more reliable as a whole but generally drive better as a result of more effort going into the ride, handling, performance side. By design, none are made to last and it appears some are intentionally made to wear out faster so people go out and replace them sooner
A generalisation, yes, but it my genuine observation.

Moses is comparing the first generation XK, which had quite a bit of unrefined plastic and older manufacturing technologies, such as the unfinished black plastic around the J-gate shifter.
Jaguar has too many entry level option packages that really make whichever model is spec'd like look really cheap. They should abandon the lower option packages.
