New wheels
 

Morning all,

I have some new wheels for my XKR which don't have the TPMS Valves, will the ones from my existing wheels fit?

Yep Paul they should be transferable over, but you need to ask yourself the following:

1) How old are your existing sensors?
2) If original or over 5yrs do you want to have the hassle of having to change them again in the near future

Better would be to buy a new set, I did off ebay for £87 for 5 (got one for the spare as well)

You can use generic ones, but make sure whatever shop you have do the work can set them up.

Depending on the year, there are two different operating frequencies... Get the Denso ones, they are OEM.

You sure it's by year? Pretty sure it is by market....

Buyer beware!
 

When buying replacement TPMS sensors, be sure to check the date code for when they were manufactured. Even though they're brand new, battery life degrades while sitting on the shelf. A "new" sensor made 5 years ago might not have much life left.

Generation 2 TPMS Rechargeable Batteries
 

Smartphones are now able to be recharged wirelessly, so why not do the same thing for TPMS batteries? Prolong the life and minimize costs of a new sensor, removing and reinstalling the tire, and balancing.

It's not here yet, but Generation 2 TPMS with rechargeable batteries on the horizon. Unfortunately, it doesn't work with your existing sensors.
