Default New XKR

After taking a 2010 out for a test drive I couldn't resist, so I said what the hey you only live once, picked up a convertible, Kyanite Blue, Black Top,
and Black interior. Amazing the difference from the 2008 I had, Some great new features, the usb connection is just great, and it works very well once you figure out how to set up the files, Still haven't decided if I like the new shift set up just seems like this type of car should have a stick in it not a dial
but I guess thats just old fashioned.

As soon as I saw the color I thought it looked great, a little unusual
but great with the black interior, the only thing that bothers me is
the color of the headliner and the area around the windshield.( A pillars )
You can special order black but I think that would be too dark inside, you'd think that Jag would use more sense in matching some of the interior colors
On my 98 silver w black interior the headliner was a light Grey I think that would look much better that the canvas color the put in, but then again what do I know LOL

My '08 with black interior also has the tan A Pillars (like yours) that run through the roof all the way back to the C pillar. I actually like that contrast. I'm sure you'll get use to it.

I recently traded my 03 blk XKR for an 08 Red XKR thought id hate the color but it has grown on me HA. But I also test drove the 2010 and I thought the 08 was pretty similar execpt for the stick shift ( which I also prefer). Since the jump from an 03 to an 08 was such a big one Im thinking that might be why I didn't see much differance between the 08 and the 10 Just wondering what was the differences you saw, that made you take the big plunge?
BTW Congrats AWSOME car!!

ChiRedXKR

I have had quite a few xkr's Loved them all, (see my pic gallery)
But this one was the 1st to just blow me away, I fell in love with the color
and with some of the new settings, adaptive mode which changes the
handling of the car shocks and steering in addition to the s mode, this
car remind me of my 1969 GTO as far as the brute force of the power, but unlike the GTO it handles great. All I can say is 420 HP is good 510 Hp
is better Now I'd like to see what they can do to get it to 600.

That would be interesting, By the way it looks great in red

ghostrider - your SL63 and XKR seem a bit redundant or is it the E350 and the S500 - what gives?

It's actually an SL65 AMG(V12 Twin Turbo) not SL63 AMG (V8) and XKR. Both are my summer cars. Sl65 is alot faster (even with the XKR upgrades) and also has the convertible factor. The XKR is better looking and is mostly cruising around town. Love both cars but looking back I'm thinking I should have gotten a slightly used Lambo LP640 or new LP560. It's nice to have 2 cars too choose from though.

2010 E350 4Matic (with my 2006 Pathfinder) are my cars I drive for winter. S500 is getting old and dealer didn't want much for it for trade when I bought my 2010 E350 4matic so I just kept it for now. Might upgrade to the S550 down the road.

If I were you , I would sell these two mentioned rides and buy a LAmborghini LP640 but I don't think Lamborghini is no where being as much practical as MB or Jag

Sorry about the typo on the 63 vs. 65. BUT - aren't all SL63s or 65s AMGs??

Makes sense on the car rationale. I have to keep reminding myself not all XKR are convertibles - and I realize the MB (twin turbo or bi-turbo? any diff?) is much faster but I have trouble finding a place to get full use of the 420HP in the XKR. I kept the Lexus as the winter car. Was going to replace it with a (used) S63 or S65 before I stumbled across the Jag. Couldn't pass it up.

I read somewhere else in here that the SC pulley upgrade causes excessive wear on the SC. Seems logical. What's your take?
