Default Oil pressure-I think

After a recent service my 2013 XKR threw
up the error codes for the VVT exhaust valve failure. After a lot of hunting I removed the oil filter and found it had collapsed and was probably restricting oil circulation. Has anyone come across this?

This looks like a vacuum has made the filter collapse and if so, what is causing the vacuum? I have no answer….

OMG. How could that happen?!

Is that an oem filter? Perhaps marginally too long and smashed in place? Or not firmly seated before the cap was placed?

i

I think that is spot on. It must have been incorrectly seated. Diagnosing the problems this caused was epic with opinions from failed vvt solenoids to timing chain jump although in hindsight it was always an oil pressure problem. Thanks for the replies
