1966 Sunbeam Tiger is at the top of my list. Had that when I was in High School in 1976-77.
Followed by my 1990 928 GT Twin Screw Supercharged..
Last but not least, 1985 928 Euro S 5-Speed Twin Screw Supercharged..

You and I have a lot of similarities. My first car during high school in ‘78 and ‘79 was a ‘74.5 Jensen Healey. In the 80’s I also had a red ‘85 928S before I had my black ‘90 928 S4. Now we both have XKR’s.

I would like to take a moment to thank our moderators and users for not rushing everything off to off topic.
One of the things I found fascinating when researching what GT to buy nigh three years ago was the sheer amount of banter and chatter that this sub-forum had.
I knew it had to be a good car if many of the topics where about enjoying life and not just problems with the car.
I really haven't gotten rid of any of the cooler cars that I've had so no real regrets other than not being able to finish / refinish them. Favorite car I wish I hadn't taken apart to restore is my '69 fastback Mustang. It's welded to a car trailer at my friends farm and I'll probably never finish it. I've had my '68 Fairlane 500 fastback since '91 and won't sell it. 34k on the clock and smells like new inside.
Miss my ‘67 Plymouth Barracuda like crazy. Had to do the smart thing and sell it to cover some expenses for grad school and it still hurts. Maybe I’ll track it down and buy it back one day, but for now the XKR definitely helps to take the edge off.

I had one as well, we called it the poor man's BMW 2002. But didn't they only get imported to the US for 1973 and 1974 or was it 1972 and 1973? The last year of importation got the 2.8L engine but had those large clunky looking bumpers, I had the one like your picture only in brown.
I'm not sure what years were actually imported. Mine was exactly as pictured, color, and everything, (except the ski's) and it was definitely a 72, I did a search on Ebay and Craigslist last night, and found nothing. but I did find pictures of 71's that looked like mine. But not sure when, or if they got to the US. The later 2.8 V6 sucked. It was a morfidite version, of the 2.6 which was nasty for it's size. I remember seeing the 73-74's with the big chunky bumpers. Then in 76 They came up with the restyle which really sucked, and it died a miserable death.

Now we were Ford men and we likely knew that we would race 'til something blew, and we thought over, now wouldn't you.
Wouldn't mind having any of them back, but the wish list is so long, the funds so tight and most of all, the space so limited, that it would be counterproductive to go back. I would like to have a special edition of the car I drove through college tho. Back in the 80s, I had a Mercury Capri (the fox body cousin to the Mustang, not the one mentioned by tberg and jacobra.) In my hometown at the same time were two ASC McLaren Capri convertibles that I thought they just looked so much better than the Mustang convertibles. I'd wave to the drivers whenever I saw them, but they'd just give me a look like "Am I supposed to know you?" I guess that's what drives the values of muscle cars today. How many baby boomers actually drove a 6-cylinder Chevelle or Mustang back in the 60s and wished they had the big block? One of these days I hope there'll be an open spot in my building when a good one turns up for sale. But the XK and XK8 coupes are also on that long wish list.

I had an XJ220 waaayyyyyyy back when, but stupidly sold it for double what I paid. $258,500.
Our new hero on the forum for owning such a dream car. My favorite super car of the era. Still looks awesome today. I see a dark blue one locally several time a year. XJ220 is certainly on my lottery win list.
Reminds me when guys were discussing tech that works in a sauna.
