Battery topped up but still getting message. Alternator putting out only 10. So new battery and alternator it is :-)

So the fuse and wiring to the alternator are OK or you are winging it? Alternator swap looks like a PITA so I'd at least verify you don't have something dumb happening between it and the battery.

I brought it on for the work. I know the battery was heading south as it wasn’t keeping a charge. Fuse was fine. I heard the whining from the engine bay and saw a low reading from alternator. Trying a new local shop and they have been a pleasure so I thought I’d see what they do with this. They put on the new battery and suggested the alternator (very reasonable price), so here I am. I should have it back tomorrow so we shall see if it’s resolved.

Cool, hopefully they are checking stuff and giving you good advice. Sucks when it isn't the case or you don't know what to check for.

New battery and rebuilt alternator and I’m good to go.
