Default Paddle Shift Extensions

What the factory forgot.

Made from high quality cast aluminum, easy installation. The curved design corresponds to the curvature of the steering wheel. They fit over the existing paddles and come with tiny set screws an Allen wrench and 3M double sided tape. I put the 3M tape in, but didn't expose the adhesive so I could easily remove them in case I didn't like them. With 4 set screws (2 on each side, top and bottom), they're secure. And they feel so much better to the touch than the OEM plastic paddles. The OEM paddles retain the illuminated +and - so it doesn't matter that the extensions aren't illuminated. A nice touch for under $35.

Stuart

P.S. I ordered black and am pleased with how they blend with the factory plastic paddles and other black trim. They're very rigid and I was unable to bend them - but I didn't try that hard.

Those there look like nice quality ones, but I've never had a problem with the stockers.

I wish they were mounted to the column and not the wheel. PITA to fumble around searching for them while in full lock.

Bit more here
and here
They are far from ideal, but with modes (bending) they work well.

I went with gray to more or less match the blue leather on the Wheel and the factory paddles.

Biggest difference between then and now is the price. It's now half of what it used to be. Mine fit fine right out of the box.

I think Clever Name has reviewed an entirely different set of PS extensions. His photos show an inverted open V. Stuart's are solid with no V.

Nope. Same set. i first bought the open design in silver, and disliked them. So pulled them and replaced with the black curved.
Both peices are perfectly flat, so the ends stand way out from the wheel. so i bent the tops to be parallel to the wheel.

CleverName is right. Mine are exactly like his, but the fact that they're not parallel to the steering wheel doesn't bother me ... yet. If it does, I'll do the same mod.

At my dealer today and saw these ... Ouch! Theyre not illuminated, and the + and - symbols are cut all the way through. Only $635 more than what I bought.

I found the same ones (used) from eBay in the UK, under $300 shipped. These are also supposed to have a stiffer action than the original paddles, which I wanted. I should have them sometime next week.

$680! Ouch!
I spoke to a manufacturer in S Korea than can make custom illuminated ones for about that or less.

Get a piece of billet and have a CNC guy make 'em.

I gotta pass on these as every time I flash my hi-beams I downshift. This would only compound the problem.

I'll find the S Korea company, but in the process, I ran across this variant, which now curves with the shape of the steering wheel, and has the opening of the more angular ones I hated. Might look nice...

I prefer the ones I bought over that cut-out style because
1. Mine cost $19.53 less (I paid $29.14 on sale vs. $48.67);
2. Mine are easily removed, since I used the set screws only and not the 3M tape. The cut-out style does not use set screws, only 3M tape.
3. I don't like the seller's name printed on the bottom, and prefer the solid style.

Why pay more? Why buy illuminated extensions, when the OEM illuminated paddles are still visible with the extensions? And why do they need to be illuminated? Don't you know where your hands and paddles are without looking?
